Software Engineer Intern
Worked on a Rust-native, Spark-compatible query engine: Spark TIME support across the query stack and Arrow-native execution for Python UDFs and UDTFs.

I’m Tamir, a software engineer based in Seattle. This is where I write about the software I’m building.
My work started with web applications and e-commerce platforms, then moved toward query execution, data pipelines, and distributed storage. More recently I’ve been writing Rust and working on inference engines.
I’m pursuing an MS in Computer Science at Northeastern, with graduation expected in December 2026. I work as a research assistant exploring topics around LLM systems and behaviors, and as a teaching assistant guiding students through scalable distributed systems, cloud computing, and computer vision.
